14 tablespoons unsalted butter softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour + a few tablespoons
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
3 cups chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350º and line cookie sheets with parchment paper.
Combine softened butter, both sugars and beat. Add vanilla and eggs beating between each egg addition just until mixed.
Add flour, baking soda and beat on low speed until just combined. If the dough is to wet add additional flour 1 tablespoon at a time.
Fold in chocolate chips but reserve some to place on top of cookies before putting them in the oven.
Use an ice cream scoop and drop the dough on prepared baking sheets allowing for room for them to spread. Pat down on the cookies just a bit and press in additional chocolate chips.
Bake on tray for 10-12 minutes
Makes approx. 1 dozen large cookies of 2 dozen small.
